Colouring with Spectrum Noir Markers

Hi - Since I my official title on the Design team for Artfull Crafts is Colouring Specialist I thought I should share something about how I colour.

I have chosen to colour up an image from Wild Rose called Bluebell with Hedgehog which is no longer in the online store but there are lots of other adorable stamps from the range available.  I used Spectrum Noir alcohol markers, I will list the colours as I go through the instructions.

I started by colouring Bluebell over most of her body with GB8, leaving the areas which will be coloured in lighter shades.

I then added texture with a flicking motion from the outside of the head to the inside leaving it untouched in the middle of the face and ears.  The marker was EB5.

I then went back with GB8 and blended the flicks out using first a flicking motion again over the EB5, then I went over lightly in a circular motion with the GB8

Once I was happy with how the blend of the two markers looked I added in my darker shadowed areas with EB8. I then blended over again using GB5

I then coloured my lighter areas with TN2 and using the same techniques as above added GB7 & GB10 respectively.

To add further definition I went over some of the areas of the image that had disappeared during colouring such as the eye, leg and the ear definition,

And here is the finished image (before adding a dot of red liquid pearls for the nose)
Here is a list of the markers....

Deer - GB8, EB5, EB8 and TN2 GB7 &GB10

Hedgehog - TN1, TN7, TN8

Present - DG2, JG2, JG6
CR8, CR9, DR7

Grass - LG2, CG2, CG3

Bachground - BT2, BT4

Thanks so much for joining me today and I hope I have helped a little with blending your alcohol markers.

Thank You Tag for SMS

I have been having a great time playing with new goodies from SpiegelMom Scraps this week teamed with my new Silhouette Portrait.

I love how bright and bold this tag is and it will look awesome tied to a thank you gift.

I started with a large packaging tag which I painted with Shimmerz Creameez paint in My Clementine.  I then used a Theresa Collins mask to apply Shimmerz Dazzlerz in Lemon drop.
It leaves a gorgeous shimmer and isn't too thick.
I then took a doily and spattered with the My Clementine Creameez paint on a wet paintbrush.  I then cut my thank you sentiment on the silhouette.
I ran both the sentiment and the doily through my zyron so they were easy to adhere.
I then added the gorgeous sequins.

I am sure you will find playing with these paints as much fun as me so drop by the SpiegelMom Scraps etsy store and pick some up.  Remember to use the discount code Louise15 :)
Thanks loads for joining me today, have a wonderful weekend.

Home For Christmas KaiserCraft Collection - Artfull Crafts

Hi, sorry this post is a little late in the afternoon, I have been distracted by calves and lambs today and hadn't typed up my post to schedule, but I am here now :)

I have been playing with my distress markers on this card and boy do I need some practice!  As I am sure you will agree, but cardmaking is all about keeping it real so I am using it on a card anyway.

As you can see the image is pretty rough.  I used a magnolia image from some time ago,  guess she is called present tilda or something similar.

The papers are from a new release KaiserCraft Christmas collection called Home for Christmas as are the embellishments which are some of the collectables from this collection.

I machine stitched around a few of the layers with gold thread to add some texture and also distressed the edge of the tag with ink and added some gold fibre.

Thanks so much for joining me today :)

Uber Cute With SpiegelMom Scraps

Hi and thanks for dropping in for my SpiegelMom Scraps post.  I have been making lots of these cute and quick cards lately as they are time saving but great for giving to friends and family at short notice when occasions pop up.

I am so loving the sweet pastel colours on this card. It is very Valentinesy. The pink, mint and white colour combo is always a winner with me.

It is a card for my daughter, one of those "just because I love you" kind of cards.

I started with an A5 plain white cardstock base (I use Gina K luxury cardstock because it is great for alcohol markers, great for spraying and inking and it has reasonable shipping rates to New Zealand) and sprayed with Heidi Swapp Color Shine sprays.

I then stamped the arrow background stamp on the top corner in pink dye ink.

I added my doily to the corner and trimmed it around the base then added part of a cut up project Life card which I rounded the corners on.
I then used some glossy accents to stick down my twin in a heart shape and trimmed it once it was dry.
The sequins were adhered using glue dots.

Thanks so much for joining me today and I really hope my card has inspired you.
