Splish Splashin Around Layout

With finishing up on lots of the Design Teams I was on for 2015 I have time to scrapbook again which is really exciting for me, especially considering it was my first paper crafting love and what got me started down this crazy road.

I took some photos of 2 of my kids splashing around in the pool they got for Christmas with my Instax and while the photos are a bit crap and overexposed they definitely capture the fun my children were having so I decided to scrap them.

With it being a while since I actually have done any scrapbooking I really needed a start point so I googled some scrapbooking challenge and found this sketch...

at Stuck Sketches, I liked that I could use some summery papers I had on my desk with it.

And here is my finished page....

I really like how playful and sunshiney this layout turned out.
Hope you enjoy it too :)

A Deer Card To Share

Another card to share today, and yes it is another Christmas card.  BUT against my better judgement I have done a Winter themed card.  I usually steer away from Winter Christmas Cards as it is kind of ridiculous giving a snowy card for Christmas when it is boiling hot outside.
However I purchased this sweet image from the paper shelter and it is a wintery scene and I have some snowflake dies so here you go, a Winter Xmas card.

The papers are old ones Hero Arts "Aspen Snow" which is still a fav with me.
I have added Frantage on the layers, what a mission!  Looks lovely but is it really worth the huge effort? The cardstock is Bazzill and the ribbon and thread are both American Crafts.

Thanks loads for popping by and I would love you to leave a comment so I can visit you in return,
Lou

A Little Christmas Angel

Hi, I hope everyone is as excited as I am about Christmas being only 15 days away WHOOP WHOOP.

I have been loving making up some cards with pre coloured images from The Paper Shelter.
Sometimes when you have lots of cards to make and colouring the images takes SOOOOOOO long it is ok to cut corners a little, particularly when they are as cute as this image :)

I have used papers from the Holly Jolly collection by Kaisercraft, available from Artful Crafts.
The die was given to me by my friend Tracy, it is a Marianne Designs one.
The ribbon and embossing powder are both from American Crafts and I have used liquid pearls for the berries.
The image is printed on Gina K luxury cardstock.

Thanks loads for dropping by,
Lou

SpiegelMom Scraps Christmas Bloghop

Christmas is only 24 days away here in New Zealand which TOTALLY excites me!
AND we are having the SpiegelMom Scraps bloghop starting today too.  So very auspicious day all round really :)

Here is my hop card....

I started by layering my papers and then sewing the top layer and mat on my sewing machine with gold thread.  Originally Santa was a square layer too but you couldn't see all the stars I cut on my silhouette from transparency and sewed to the card and filled with delish sequins and stars.
I have used Rockin Red Stardust and Cinnamon & Sugar Sequin Mix from the SpiegelMom Scraps Store.  I then added the ribbon and bow to the card and stamped and glued my sentiment.
Then I fussy cut my image which is called "December 26th" and is from The Paper Shelter.  I have used the precoloured version.

And here is a close up of my stars....

Thanks loads for dropping by and remember to join in the hop!

Artfull Crafts Christmas Countdown - Holly Jolly

Hi, I am here with you today with another card share for the Artfull Crafts Christmas Countdown.

I have used another KaiserCraft Collection for this card, Holly Jolly, full of red & green and black and kraft, this collection is a little more contemporary.

I have used a digital image from The East Wind and is called Dear Santa.  I coloured the image with Copic Markers.
The papers have been inked on the edges with distress inks in Cracked Pistachio and Fired Brick with an ink blending tool.

I diecut was cut on my silhouette cameo and it was my first time cutting with a shadow, it has taken me ages to work out how, thank goodness for youtube!

That's all from me today, thanks for dropping by,
Lou

Christmas Cuteness With SpiegelMom Scraps

Only 40 days until Christmas my lovelies  :)  All a bit scary really, however as always I have the kids Christmas pressies well in hand and only have hubby, my brother and my Ma & Pa to shop for and since I already know that I am getting hubs a drill that take SOOOOOO much pressure off.

Which leaves me time to indulge in making cute Christmas crafts like this super sweet tag made using goodies from SpiegelMom Scraps Etsy store.

I started by coating a large tag with modge podge and sticking down my patterned paper, once it was dry, aided with a heat gun, I added stars with a stencil and the very lush Dazzlers paint in Foiled again. Once the stars were dry I inked the edges with some distress ink and then added my half doily ( I use these all the time, in fact I could almost say that doilys are my fave embellie) which I glued down with modge podge again to make it look kind of decoupagey.  I then added the image which is from All Dressed up Stamps and part of a set called 3 Christmas girls.
The stamp was stamped with stazon and then I added the gold sequins.
I think it turned out pretty darn cute :)
Thanks loads for visiting and I hope I have inspired you to make a start on your Christmas crafts if you haven't already.
Remeber you can yuse the code Louise15 in the SpiegelMom Scraps Store for a discount.

Total Summer Fun With SpiegelMom Scraps

It almost feels like Summer here today so what better way to celebrate my favourite season of the year than with a cute card :)

I have coloured the image, which is by Whimsy and Stars who I think only does colouring books now???
I coloured my image using Spectrum Noir markers.

I have used a doily, Green Chevron Washi tape and Gold and Varsity Sequins from SpiegelMom Scrap Etsy Shop.

The papers are from a 6x6 pad by Carta Bella called It's a Celebration.

Thanks loads for joining me today and I hope it is enjoyable weather where you are today :)

A Little bit of Fairy Dust.

Hi - happy Saturday everyone :) It is a lovely day here in Dannevirke so I am going to make this quick so I can get out in my garden.

One of the new releases for October is KaiserCraft's  Fairy Dust Collection, this is a really pretty collection with lots of purple and turquoise.  Very girly.

I have used a couple of the papers from the 6x6 paper pad for my card and added a punched border and lace doily for some texture under my image.
I have added some Bo Bunny Pearlescents around the edge of the card and on the outside of the image.
I have added some flowers and a butterfly from the Fairy Dust collectables pack.
The image is called Darla Dogwood and she is from Lacy Sunshine stamps .
I have coloured her with copic markers.

Thanks loads for visiting and I hope you enjoyed my card.

Goodies on their way from Blitsy

So first off I love to support local stores and will do every time if
A - They are competitive
B- They have what I want without having to
wait until they are placing an order with a supplier

I do love Blitsy though.  Most of the time if you are after a few things the shipping is pretty competitive, they often have stuff I can't find in NZ and usually the prices rock.  You can also use their competitors codes for 40% off, and that has to be good.

Here is the link....

I placed an order for some art journalling stamps and bits on Friday and it is on it's way now, pretty excited to be getting all these bits....

Crafty Individuals - stamp "a garden of flowers"

Crafty Individuals - stamp "Inky Background"

Crafty Individuals - stamp "French Script"

Tim Holtz - Flower Garden Stamp

And a couple of stencils etc.   Cool hey :)
Make sure and check Blitsy out for a bargain - BUT check the shipping and conversion rate before you press enter.

Colouring with Spectrum Noir Markers

Hi - Since I my official title on the Design team for Artfull Crafts is Colouring Specialist I thought I should share something about how I colour.

I have chosen to colour up an image from Wild Rose called Bluebell with Hedgehog which is no longer in the online store but there are lots of other adorable stamps from the range available.  I used Spectrum Noir alcohol markers, I will list the colours as I go through the instructions.

I started by colouring Bluebell over most of her body with GB8, leaving the areas which will be coloured in lighter shades.

I then added texture with a flicking motion from the outside of the head to the inside leaving it untouched in the middle of the face and ears.  The marker was EB5.

I then went back with GB8 and blended the flicks out using first a flicking motion again over the EB5, then I went over lightly in a circular motion with the GB8

Once I was happy with how the blend of the two markers looked I added in my darker shadowed areas with EB8. I then blended over again using GB5

I then coloured my lighter areas with TN2 and using the same techniques as above added GB7 & GB10 respectively.

To add further definition I went over some of the areas of the image that had disappeared during colouring such as the eye, leg and the ear definition,

And here is the finished image (before adding a dot of red liquid pearls for the nose)
Here is a list of the markers....

Deer - GB8, EB5, EB8 and TN2 GB7 &GB10

Hedgehog - TN1, TN7, TN8

Present - DG2, JG2, JG6
CR8, CR9, DR7

Grass - LG2, CG2, CG3

Bachground - BT2, BT4

Thanks so much for joining me today and I hope I have helped a little with blending your alcohol markers.

Thank You Tag for SMS

I have been having a great time playing with new goodies from SpiegelMom Scraps this week teamed with my new Silhouette Portrait.

I love how bright and bold this tag is and it will look awesome tied to a thank you gift.

I started with a large packaging tag which I painted with Shimmerz Creameez paint in My Clementine.  I then used a Theresa Collins mask to apply Shimmerz Dazzlerz in Lemon drop.
It leaves a gorgeous shimmer and isn't too thick.
I then took a doily and spattered with the My Clementine Creameez paint on a wet paintbrush.  I then cut my thank you sentiment on the silhouette.
I ran both the sentiment and the doily through my zyron so they were easy to adhere.
I then added the gorgeous sequins.

I am sure you will find playing with these paints as much fun as me so drop by the SpiegelMom Scraps etsy store and pick some up.  Remember to use the discount code Louise15 :)
Thanks loads for joining me today, have a wonderful weekend.

Home For Christmas KaiserCraft Collection - Artfull Crafts

Hi, sorry this post is a little late in the afternoon, I have been distracted by calves and lambs today and hadn't typed up my post to schedule, but I am here now :)

I have been playing with my distress markers on this card and boy do I need some practice!  As I am sure you will agree, but cardmaking is all about keeping it real so I am using it on a card anyway.

As you can see the image is pretty rough.  I used a magnolia image from some time ago,  guess she is called present tilda or something similar.

The papers are from a new release KaiserCraft Christmas collection called Home for Christmas as are the embellishments which are some of the collectables from this collection.

I machine stitched around a few of the layers with gold thread to add some texture and also distressed the edge of the tag with ink and added some gold fibre.

Thanks so much for joining me today :)

Uber Cute With SpiegelMom Scraps

Hi and thanks for dropping in for my SpiegelMom Scraps post.  I have been making lots of these cute and quick cards lately as they are time saving but great for giving to friends and family at short notice when occasions pop up.

I am so loving the sweet pastel colours on this card. It is very Valentinesy. The pink, mint and white colour combo is always a winner with me.

It is a card for my daughter, one of those "just because I love you" kind of cards.

I started with an A5 plain white cardstock base (I use Gina K luxury cardstock because it is great for alcohol markers, great for spraying and inking and it has reasonable shipping rates to New Zealand) and sprayed with Heidi Swapp Color Shine sprays.

I then stamped the arrow background stamp on the top corner in pink dye ink.

I added my doily to the corner and trimmed it around the base then added part of a cut up project Life card which I rounded the corners on.
I then used some glossy accents to stick down my twin in a heart shape and trimmed it once it was dry.
The sequins were adhered using glue dots.

Thanks so much for joining me today and I really hope my card has inspired you.

KaiserCraft Holy Night Collection Card

Hi :)  I am here today to share a card made with the new Holy Night collection from KaiserCraft.
The colours in this collection are really quite traditional but that doesn't mean your card has to be traditional.  As you can see this card looks pretty modern because of the embellishments and image.

I have coloured the Lacy Sunshine image with Spectrum Noir markers and added some accents with Stickles.
I coloured the stars on the PJs with a gold pen.
I also punched a scalloped circle to mount the sentiment, which is part of the Holy Night collection, on.

Thanks loads for visiting today and be sure to check out all the goodies available in the Artfull Crafts shop.

Art Journal Flower Power at Southern Girls Challenge

So another challenge is up and at em over at SGC, and this fortnights challenge is to use flowers on your project.

I have been a bit naughty this week as this art journal is actually a page in a journal for a swap.  I am not supposed to share it yet but since I organised the swap I guess I can break the rules ;)

I have used Bonnie Bookworm image by Oddball Art Co who are our sponsors for this challenge.

I coloured the background with mists then stamped with a kaisercraft flower stamp and a letter background stamp from Hero Arts in Stazon.  I coloured the flower stamps with prismacolor pencils to pop them a bit.  The image was painted with reeves water soluble pastels then touched up with prismacolor pencils.  I added a border, which has been slightly cut off in the photo, with a set from dylusions called write between the lines.

Thanks for dropping by my blog :)

Holy Night Collection Card for Artfull Crafts

I am sharing a card made with the new KaiserCraft Holy Night collection today.  This collection is loaded full of rich, traditional Christmas colours.

I decided to go with an antique gold look on this card.....

The image is coloured with copic markers and prismacolor pencils.
I have outlined my paper layers with gold glitter stickles.  The collectable was also outlined with stickles and a small gold bow added.

There really isn't too much to say about this card, it is pretty simple with the image and papers doing all the work :)  The image is a digital stamp from Lacy Sunshine Stamps called Rejoice Angel.

Thanks loads for visiting today :)

A Bit Of Whimsy With SMS

Hi :)  Happy Sunday!!!!  The sun has come out, the rain is drying up and the birds are singing, it is going to be a great day.

I have a SpiegelMom Scraps card to share today, and I am loving the clean, crispness with a bit of whimsy on this card.

I started with a watercolour look paper which I layered onto my card base.  I then added doilies along the card fold.  I cut up a project life card for the sentiment and glued it to a label then added the twine around the outside of the sentiment.

Then for an extra touch of cuteness I added the veneer bicycle and cork hearts.

I am loving how cute this card turned out :)

Artfull Crafts - KaiserCraft Touch Of Gold Collection

Hi, I am here today to share a card made with the newly released Touch of Gold Collection by Kaisercraft.   I really love the fresh white, grey and gold in this collection and found it really easy to create with.

I have used a couple of pages from the 6x6 Touch of Gold pad, yellow and white cardstock and a tag from the ephemera pack.  The sticker is a clear sentiment sticker from Kaisercraft.  The flowers are from my large stash but you can find LOADS of lush flowers at Artfull Crafts HERE

I have coloured the image with copic markers and used a white pen for detailing.

Please excuse the eyes, I added glossy accent to them but it has turned hazy????  I think that bottle will be relegated to glue from now on.

Thanks for joining me today :)

SpiegelMomScraps Gets Splashy

I have been a pretty un-awesome DT member of SMS lately but things are going to improve from here on out as I have changed my day to Sunday (for me) which is a lot easier for me to organise myself for - so yay!

So today I am presenting my first Sunday/Saturday post for SpiegelMom Scraps  and I have this card for you which celebrates my joy that Summer is on the way - whoop whoop - although only just about to break into Spring here but the daffodils springing up means that it is coming.

I coloured my image with copic markers and used Fancy Pants papers from an age ago and the sentiment is cut on my underutilised cricut, which I have vowed to use more as it is a very sentimental beastie for me, it was my wedding present from my husband :) See very sentimental.

I am adding links below for all the fabulous goodies you can get from SMS that I have used on my card and when you are visiting don't forget to add the code Louise15 for your special discount.

Thanks loads for dropping by xx

Southern Girls Anything Goes

This week at Southern Girls Challenge  our theme is Anything goes.  Our sponsor is Ppinkydolls for this challenge, the DT ladies have made gorgeous samples with Ppinky doll images so be sure to go and check them all out on the challenge page.

I have used Circus Bebe on my Art Journal page.

I painted the background with acrylic paint, on the curtains I mixed the paint with texture medium to create a rippled material look.  I also added liquid pearls to add some definition of the different areas.  I printed the image out on slightly thicker printer paper and coloured with copics. I printed the quote out on my printer and grunged up the paper with sprays and distress ink before gluing down and  outlining the pieces and the outside of the page with a sharpie.

Thanks loads for joining me today be sure to check out the challenge.

Lacy Sunshine Christmas in July Release Weekend

Hi lovely followers :)  I am here today to share a card I have made with one of the super cute new Christmas releases from Lacy Sunshine.  Heather has drawn really fantastic images for this releases and it is hard to pick a favourite but I did manage to pick just one and Lil Peanut's Christmas Tree was it.

You can find this image and loads more gorgeous Christmas images in the Lacy Sunshine Christmas Shoppe

Here is the card I made with her.....

I used copics to colour my image and highlighted with the kids colouring pencils as they were on my desk, SO LAZY lol.  The papers are from an old basic grey 6x6 pad, I think they are called Aspen??? The bauble stamp, diecut, sentiment and ribbon are all retired Stampin'Up product and the sequins are from SpiegelMom Scraps

Here is my colour card so you can see the copics I have used.....

Thanks loads for dropping by and remember to check out all the fantastic new releases at Lacy Sunshine :)
