Cute & Colourful With All Dressed Up

It is nearly the end of the school holidays, only one week to go :(
I have really enjoyed these holidays with the kids and we have been having a few little outings which has been fun.

The only trouble with the holidays though is finding time to craft.
And I feel funny if I don't do something a little crafty arty every couple of days.

This morning I have had a chance, since hubby is home, to sit down and make a card from start to finish which is a miracle in this house I tell you.

So here it is my cute and colourful card made with an All Dressed Up image...

The image is called Happy Birthday and best of all you can find her in the FREEBIES section of the All Dressed Up blog.
I KNOW - free, can you believe it.
But also make sure and visit the shop because there are loads of cuties there too, I can speak from experience as I spend most of my digi allowance there lately.

I coloured her with copic markers.
The papers are from my scrap bin and are leftovers from scrapbook layouts.
I used a couple of dies through my cuttlebug on this card too, from spellbinders, memory box and couture creations.
The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

I would like to enter this card in the All Dressed Up challenge.

Thanks loads fr dropping by...

A Bit Of Random Fun With Southern Girls

Over at Southern Girls for the next fortnight we have a nice, easy Anything Goes challenge for you to join in with.
We have been sponsored by the East Wind and A Random Fan.
I drew A Random Fan to work with and chose this super cute Sweet Honey Bee image to use.
I had Connor's little friend in mind when I made it as he is off to her surprise party today which he is pretty excited about.
We are off gift shopping later so it will be interesting see what he thinks a 10 year old girl would like.

I coloured the image using copic markers.  The papers are MME from my most favourite collection ever to make cards with, it will be a sad day when I finish my last 6x6 paper pad of this one.
The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts where I buy all my flowers as they have an awesome selection and the shipping to NZ is super reasonable.
I printed the sentiment in word and punched using SU punches from my demo days.

Thanks loads for visiting :)

Oh Jane - You are SOOOOOOOO Wild

Today I have a card made with a new image from Bloobel Stamps.
Bloobel stamps is pretty new, only starting in October last year.
The images are a bit crazy funny, I love them.

This image is called Jane and as soon as I saw her on the Bloobel FB page I knew what I wanted to make.  I went crazy with my Silhouette portrait for this card as you can see....

Jane is coloured with Copic markers.

I wish I could find some adhesive refills for my Xyron 510, it would have been loads better to stick the cuts down than using fabritac.

So there you have Jane, I hope you enjoyed her.

All Dressed Up Floral Bomb

Have I ever told you just how much I love All Dressed Up Images ???
Well I do!  They are marvellous, so wonderful to colour and just a little bit different from the other girly images, almost like calista flockheart lollipop girls ;)
And I was a huge fan of Ally McBeal, I miss those shows.  You know the ones like Ally and Boston Legal etc.  Much better than lame cooking and house reno programmes.  Thank cripes for Netflix really.

So onto my card.....

The image is called Top Knot and I have coloured her with copic markers.
The papers are "We Are Family" by Echo Park.
The flowers are all from Wild Orchid Crafts.
I added glossy accents to my wood veneers after inking the outside with Poppy Parade stamp pad from SU.  I added liquid pearls as an accent around the image and on the scallop edges of the die cuts.
The sentiment is also Stampin Up.

Thanks loads for visiting :)

Whoopin It Up With Some Yellow

3 in a row - I am on a roll ;)
After yesterday's dark and sombre layout I am back to my colourful self with this layout

Here is the challenge image...

I used scraps from my scrap draw, I am using up some of them before I cut up some new sheets as they were getting out of control.
I misted the background with Mister Hueys over a Studio Calico stencil then once it was dry added my layered photo.  On the layers I inked the edges of each piece of paper with Squeezed Lemon distress ink.
The chippy and brad are both Echo Park from a summer collection called Summer Bliss by Lori Whitlock released last year or the year before maybe?
The flair is from my stash and the ribbon and sequins are from SpiegelMom Scrap shop.
The Alphas are Thickers.

Hope you enjoy my layout, let me know what you think.

New Year = More Scrapping!!!!

Happy New Year!!!!!
The start of a New Year brings resolutions and this year mine is to scrap more.
Last year I think I did 2 layouts - holy moly batman - not great.
SOOOO  this year is about crafting productively.
I may even get back into PL, but that may not happen as I always forget to take photos everyday and then things just get a little boring.  Also we have no life LOL - well we do but we live in the country and don't "go" places.
It could be a PL full of photos of mine and the kidlets crafting, now that would be exciting.

I have made a great start to the year and completed 3 layouts in the last week, so I know technically 2 were before New Years but I am patting myself on the back anyway.

My latest layout, which I did this morning, is for the csi color stories inspiration major challenge for January.

The colours were a NIGHTMARE for me but I got there eventually.

Here is my "ROCK CHICK" layout

The hardest colour was the burgundy, I have NOTHING burgundy in my stash so ended up gessoing the frame and painting it with brown and red H2Os and inking up the hessian hearts and star and veneer with some SU ink.
Also chocolate brown isn't a fave either.  I will probably end up rescrapping the photo for Jodie's own album in more girly colours down the track.

I may have a rather gruesome layout in a few days as my oldest son is staying at his Nana & Pop's and has been shooting rabbits with a bow and arrow.
He is saving them for me to take a photo of so tomorrow when I pick him him up so you can all look forward to that LOL.

Catch you up soon

Instagramming

Instagram-logo-005

I have been instagraming for about 2 years now, but have recently started following a lot more scrappers, cardmakers, mixed media artists and artists.   It really is a huge outlet for lots of really talented crafters and individuals.  You can spend hours on there finding like minded individuals and inspiration.

Plus it is awesome for editing and sharing your photos.  My instagram name is loulouforsyth and if you visit my profile you will see LOTS of random photos of both my creative stuff and my family.  For those of you not on instagram I am going to share some of my recent family faves with you....

So there you have it, if you haven't already discovered how completely awesome instagram is, give it a go :0)
