TPS - Tie a Bow

This week the challenge over at The Paper Shelter Challenge is to tie a bow using some sort of spooled item.  I have used one of the newer images on my card, PRE-COLOURED a smart snow white.  I made this card for my Jodie's 2nd birthday last Tuesday, I can't believe how fast time is flying and how big she is getting.  I have managed to pass my love of all things pink onto her so I have made this card VERY pink just for her.
The sentiment was stamped using an old SU set and the ribbon is also from SU.  The papers came in a lovely package I was sent by my good friend Trace, the box was packed with loads of yummy paper crafting bits and bobs, I was so lucky.  I gave her blog a summer makeover to say thanks but I am thinking a little something in the mail could be called for.  Make sure and go and check her cards out, she is SUPER clever and talented.

I made this card for a commission a few weeks ago but hadn't posted it yet so I thought I would share it with you today.  I used an image from Cuddly Buddly called Star Birdie. I coloured her (I am guessing it is a her) with prisma pencils and the papers are digital ones from Digital House Design and are by Jen Allyson.

I am entering this card in the following challenges.....

A little something something....... or three.

When I was doing the last of my shopping in Palmerston North a few weeks ago, I found some t-shirt transfer paper in Spotlight and a little idea began to form.   I have seen lots of printed t-shirts for kids and thought hmmmmm, with the amount of cool fonts and elements I have in digi kits I bet I could make some awesome  prints for the kidlets.  Yesterday while hubby and the boys were away shopping and Jodie was sleeping I decided to have a little play.

First up we have Jodie's new "Whoo Me? tshirt made with alphas and elements from Whimsical Garden by Kristen Cronin-Barrow available from Sweet Shoppe Designs, modelled by the gorgeous Jodie <3

Next we have a summery creation using Strawberry Kisses by Tracy Stroud available from Scraporchard.  Not much to say other than the caption on the T-Shirt totally fits both the shirt and the model.lol.

And this pretty pink number was embellished with roses made with fabric scraps from some sewing projects I have been doing lately.

And that is a wrap!!!!!!!!!!!

Hope everyone has an awesome Christmas, xox!

A little something I cased..........

I saw an awesome coathanger kite HERE at Ruffles & Stuff  lastnight when I was having a little surf in webland.  I added it to my pintrest board  with the comment "I am going to make this tomorrow" and I have YAY!
Here is a photo of my take on it......
as you can see mine is not a bow holder as Jodie doesn't have any bows, she does have clips though and I can clip them to the ribbon.  They wouldn't be big enough to look like kite bows on the string however so I used off cuts of the kite material to make mine.  I have taken this picture hanging from a picture hook in our kitchen as there is no window in Jodie's room at the moment (don't even ask, I am assured it will be replaced over hubby's Christmas break) so I couldn't get a decent photo in there.  Although you can take my word for it that it is now hanging artistically across one wall in there.  This is SOOOO cute and easy to make that I plan to get some material next time I am in Palmy to match Zippy's room so I can make him one too, obviously NOT for hairclips, just as a decor item :)

I am entering this in the Really Reasonable Ribbon Challenge - Anything Goes

Thanks for visiting and be sure to leave me a comment so I can return the blog love.

Christmas Tags

A few gift tags to share with you.  I have actually made these for my children as decorations for the tree, hence the monogram letter on each one.

Firstly we have Connor's Tag.......

For all three cards I cut 2 labels on my cricut with the George and basic shapes cartridge and stuck them together to make the tags a bit firmer.   For this tag I embossed a background in white ep with the music notes  stamp from the December 25 clear stamp set by KaiserCraft, I then painted with glimmer glam be positive, once the glimmer glam was dry I buffed with a chux cloth to bring out the white embossing. I stamped the  "25" from the December 25 stampset with versamark and embossed again with white EP, I then inked over with Distress ink in Fired Brick. I finished the tag with some spotted organza ribbonbakers twine and an AC Thickers letter.
Angus' tag took a lot longer to complete and looks very shiny and textured in real life.  I started by inking the tag with a sponge withDistress ink in Fired Brick, I then stamped the flourishy stamp fromDecember 25 stamp set in versamark and embossed with copper ep, I then painted over with be positive glimmer glam, once again I burnished when it was dry with a chux cloth.  I then sprayed with glimmer mist in iridescent gold and dried with my heat gun, I brushed the edge of the tag with glimmer glaze in sea kelp and stamped the sentiment withblack stazon.  The chipboard star is painted with glimmer glam be positive and covered with royal coat gloss, once dry I I edged it with agold inkpad.  I used a kaisercraft wooden flourish and coloured it with a gold inkpad.  the A is another AC Thicker.
And lastly Jodie's tag.  Painted completely with glimmer glam heffalumpand I  then stamped the angel from December 25 stamp set and embossed in silver.  The roses and crystals were attached with my heat gun and a pink organza ribbon tied and bowed at the top to finish.

Pretty Little Christmas Baubles

Hi, it is a stunning day here!!!  Nice to see the start of summer arrive.  I am going to share some Christmas deccys with you today.  Every Year I buy clear glass baubles from a craft shop and decorate them however the years mood strikes me.  The boys also do a bauble each every year as well, it has turned into a kind of tradition .  So here are some that I have done so far this year......

The first one is my favourite so far,  keeping in mind these are all super easy to make don't be expecting any mind blowing techniques here.  I spray painted this one with gloss white spray paint and when it was dry stuck buttons all over it using my glue gun so they will never fall off. ;)  I finished it by tying some pink  ribbon around the top.
The next one is again spray painted with gloss whit spray paint.  I stuck red ribbon around the middle then stuck the bells on with my glue gun.  You could also sew on charms.
This one took a  bit longer than the rest to make.  I painted this bauble with 3 coats of glimmer glam in Heffalump, on the last coat I sprinkled irridescent glitter on while it was still wet.  Once it had dried I glued the roses on.  i then tied a bow with seam binding ribbon.
And lastly this one was spray painted in silver and then I put pink pearls on.  EASY!!!!!
These are lots of fun to decorate and you are only limited by your imagination :)

Waving Thank You...

Ok it is getting harder and harder to come up with post titles these days, for newcomers to my blog you may wonder why???? She has only been blogging for a few months!!!!  Well actually this is my 3rd blog, for some reason my blogs seem to crap out and freeze up or delete themselves after 2 years, I think I am cursed.   So yeah it is getting a bit harder to come up with titles after 4 years.

I made this card this morning..........
The image is called Winnie and she is from Krista Smith at Saturated Canary.  I followed a sketch from THAT CRAFT PLACE challenge and the challenge at The Saturated Canary Challenge is ANYTHING GOES so I am entering that too.

Here is a little close up of my colouring and the image, I am definitely getting alot better with my prisma pencils which is FANTASTIC!!!!

And here is a little close up of the flags, just for fun coz I love how glittery and cute they are :)  The stamps are from heroarts and are actually meant to be put away for Christmas for me from the kidlets.  hmmm that's the problem when you buy your own Christmas gifts and you LOVE them.lol.
The paper is from a cool set of digi papers called Mini Flowers by SherylK and they are totally my fav colours, there are another 9 cute designs in the set, very cute.

I am also entering this card in the following challenges.....

Some Fancy Folding............

I'm here today with a few cards to share that may impress your non-crafty friends as they look harder to make than what they are.
First up we have a Waterfall Card, you can find tutorial for this onsplitcoast stampers , but I found it REALLY hard to follow and suggest follow this easy to follow video on YouTube.......

Front view as it would arrive in the mailbox :)
The bottom being slowly pulled to create the "waterfall" of images...
Side view of images being pulled down.....
Cool huh???? And pretty simple to make once you get the score lines figured out.  I have used papers from MM Twinkle 8x8 paper pack,  I love the colours in this collection, bright but traditional.  I have also used"December 25" clear stamps by KaiserCraft  for my images.
Next up is a simple Gate fold card........
Front view closed
Half open so you can see the split.....
I didn't get a photo of the inside which is all decorated as the batteries went flat in my camera.  I have used a precoloured image on this card which makes things even easier, it is called "Santa is coming" and is available from The Paper Shelter as both a line and precoloured image.  I have then added highlights with my faithfull  stickles, I don't think I can make a card without using these little lovelies.
I am entering this card in the following Challenges.......
Heidi's Hobbies - Bling & Sparkle
Tiffany Doodles - Glitter & Sparkles
And last but certainly not least we have a kickstand card....
As it would arrive in the mail......
And standing on it's "stand"
I have used the MM Twinkle papers again for this one and added a die cut doily which was cut with THIS Cheery Lynn die.  I have used the December 25 clear stamps again along with some flowers in the corner blinged up a bit with stickles.  The precoloured image ( Santa's Cute Helper from THE PAPER SHELTER) has been cut out with a label die in my cuttlebug.
I am entering this card in the following challenges....

So that is a wrap for me for this time, hope there is something here to inspire you a little

Thanks Geoff!!!!

I made this little cutie for Geoff who works with Andrew at Hatuma, he sent us a lovely Peter Rabbit book for  William and a lovely book that is a true story about a puppy called HERBERT for the other  little Forsyths to congratulate them on their new brother.  The thing that is so surprising is that Geoff is unmarried & lives on his own!  I was so blown away particually when I opened the books up and he had written a lovely paragraph in each one.  What a great guy, and just so you know he was until recently single, a great catch for the lucky lady that has snaffled him I think.  The image is from PollyCraft and I have used their Sketch from the challenge for my card.

 H

Here is a close up of my blinged up star, coloured with Copics and Prisma pencils and then covered with Tattered Angel Glimmerglam in Pixie Dust which gives it awesome shine and bling.

And here is a close up of the coloured image, I am regretting having left my copics gathering dust for a while since I have gotten my prismas because used together and then blended over with OMS the results are awesome.

My Little Spotty Dot.........

My poor poxy baby, Jodie is covered in spots all over.  Through her hair on her neck and face, all over her body.  Makes me so sad.  I am using bio oil on her nose and cheeks so they don't scar, fingers crossed it works.

EDITED TO ADD>>>>
Okay since this post gets lots of hits I am guessing it is either people trying to determine which illness their child has or if Bio Oil works so..........

The bio oil worked great, no scars apart from one small one by her ear. I did not use it on the open sores until they healed over.

Jodie had Chicken Pox, they healed quite quickly and we found if she got too hot more spots would appear.

One Sheet Wonders...........

Hi, here with a sample of some super quick and easy cards made from a one sheet wonder template.  A one sheet wonder is a template that you print off either onto your paper or onto a separate sheet of photocopy paper and score onto your patterned paper.  You can find instructions and the template here

Here are the sheets of cardstock ready for me to cut down plus the leftover strip from my 12 x 12 paper, red & green candy cane strip by Best Creations

Here are my pieces cut up and on the template sheet so I can keep track of them :)  Tricky hey?

Here is my first card which uses a background stamp, a brown ink pad,Best Creations expressions chipboard,  kaisercraft flowers and akaisercraft pearl brad

The next card uses a border punch, a strip of bling, KaiserCraft Flowers,Best Creations Chipboard and a pearl brad from MME Lost & Found Christmas Decorative Brad pack

This one again uses Best Creations ChipboardBrown Grosgrain ribbon, some velum Christmas embellies I found in my drawer and a bling strip.

And the last of my samples, chipboard hearts, cosmo cricket letters, organza ribbon and some bling strip cut up into single gems.

Hope you get some inspiration from these, they are really easy and lots of fun to make up and you don't need a lot of supplies.  Thanks for looking and let me know what you think :)

This time the challenge over at Southern Girls Challenges is to create a project inspired by music or a song.  Jodie loves dancing and whenever she starts dancing I think of the Men in Hats song "Dance if you want to", you should check out the literal version on You Tube it is hysterical! I haven't laughed as hard in ages.  So anyway I have completely digressed.... we have 3 fabulous sponsors, sassy studio designs, Joanna Sheen and Meljens, the girls that have made cards have used images provided by our wonderful sponsors to make sure and stop by the challenge blog to check them out.

Quick & Easy With Baby Steps and Artfull Crafts

Just thought I would share a couple of projects I made using the Simple Stories Baby Steps 6x6 paper pad availble from ARTFULL CRAFTS.  I am so into this cute little pad as it has adorable single sided papers in totally cute patterns that could be for boys or girls.  Plus pages of sweet elements like I have used on my thank you card.  I like single sided paper pads as I always have a panic attack covering up a gorgeous pattern on the reverse side when I do projects using double sided papers, but that is just me and my OCD kicking in.

Onto the projects...............

First up we have a really quick and easy Thank You card using papers and an element from the Baby steps pad which have been distressed with scissors to within an inch of their lives then inked with a creamish brown ink in a sponge, then I painted the edges of the card and distressed the letters for the sentiment using Distress Crackle Paint in Picket Fences, I used some twine to fasten a button for some added interest and then stuck a punched butterfly in the corner of the element. To finish I gave it a couple of sprays with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in Frost.  It honestly took about 10 minutes to make.  Super quick and easy.

I am entering my card in the following challenges....
Whimsy Stamps - Button It
Lady bug Crafts - Oh Baby
Charisma Cards - Anything Goes
Digi Doodle Shop - Anything goes

Next up we have Zippy's ( sorry William's ) plunket book, none of my children have boring run of the mill uncovered  record books, where is the fun in that?????  So out came the Baby Steps pad again, I cut up a few papers to use on this to give it kind of a quilted look.  I cut Will's name out on my cricut using the "songbird" cartridge.  The cute wooden safety pin is from KaiserCraft and I put some distress Crackle paint in Picket Fences on it and around the edges of the book.  I then did the little dashes to look like stitching with a brown ink pen and went round the letters for definition.  Another really quick project.
Thanks for looking and I hope I have inspired you to whip up some super easy and quick projects.

I am entering Will's Book in the following Challenges
Anything Goes Challenge - To The Letter
Bearly Mine Challenge - Anything But a Card
