Shiny, Happy layout for SpiegelMom Scraps

Thanks for joining me today for my SpiegelMom Scraps post :0) Today I am sharing a layout of my sweet girl at the end of her first week at school.

I decided before I chose the rest of my embellishments that I really wanted to use this wooden veneer frame from the Amy Tangerine Stitched collection and turn it into a shaker box.  I added transparency on one side and cut to fit and filled with some SMS sequins before sticking some more transparency to the opposite side.  I stamped after I had glued it but in hindsight it would have been better to stamp before glueing.

I also used this Shimelle wooden Veneer below, again from SpiegelMom Scraps which I painted with gelato to match my gelato painted background....

Here is a close up of my title, Purely because I love the colours and how shiny and sparkly it is.  Also you can see some of the awesomely cute sequins I used....

And last but not least the full layout.  I loved making this and used the gelatos in ways I haven't tried before.  It was a steep learning curve trying lots of new things but also lots of fun.

Thanks so much for dropping by and I would love to know what you think of my more breaking my boundaries layout :)  Remember to use the code Louise10 in the SpiegelMom Scraps Shop to get a 10% discount.

Playing with Close To My Heart and Gelatos

I was looking around my craft room and realised that my poor gelatos have never been allowed to be featured on a card :(  Poor little under utilised lovelies.  SO  I am going to share a card today made using gelatos, and can I just say they were so happy to be allowed out of their basket to play LOL.

So here we have Dreamer Flair stamp set mixing it up with gelato backgrounds....

For my first card I stamped the girl image and sentiment from the set on plain white cardstock with permanent waterfast black ink and then I used a wet brush directly on the gelato tube to make a watery paint, then I just brushed it directly over the image, I then repeated with next colour and got a really nice blended edge as the gelato was nice and wet and blendy.

I then mounted to a piece of co-ordinating cardstock from the Adventure Pack.  Before I adhered my image/gelato top piece I punched a scalloped border along the bottom then added a strip of CTMH washi tape.  Once my top piece was adhered I added the ribbon to finish with a cheats bow.

My next card was made pretty much the same way apart from colouring with the gelato directly on to the card and then blending with a wet brush.  Once it was dry I sprinkled some gold ink spray over it.

Again this one was matted onto cardstock and a ribbon and cheats bow added.

Hope you like my more arty cards, thanks loads for dropping by and happy scrapping :)

The image is from Lacy Sunshine and is coloured with copic markers. The papers are from a stack of My Minds Eye papers.

Southern Girls Challenge - Things With Wings

This fortnight over at Southern Girls our challenge is things with wings.  We have two totally wicked sponsors, Retail Girl and Aurora Wings Stamps.

I have used Poppy sprite on my card and coloured her up with copic markers.

I am super happy I sorted my photos out on my blog, I was having trouble with my photos coming out super high contrast when I uploaded to blogger.  I did a wee google search and discovered that it is to with google plus.  I had to go into my google+ settings and find the photo section and inclick "autoawesome"  which in my opinion was very un awesome.  But all fixed now.

Lacy Sunshine Anniversary Card - with a dash of cute factor......

There is nothing quite like half a days notice that I need to make a card.... luckily for her it was my mum that asked  ;)  So my instructions were an Anniversary card.  I found out this morning that it was for a 60th wedding anniversary but hey,  I am sure the recipients will think it is as cute as mum and I do lol.

Due to the serious time restraints I decided to print the image directly on the card front and not to go too frou frou.  I have been doing some colouring classes through Heather Valentine who owns Lacy Sunshine Stamps ( you can find information on her Facebook group) so I decided that I would get in an extra bit of practice with Emmi Lou Boo - Bubble Valentine.  I am so pleased with how this turned out.

I used copic markers with Gina K luxury cardstock, which is my preferred paper for alcohol markers, and added some highlights with gel pen.  The sentiment is is a really old SU one that comes with the words separated and it took me yonks to get it straight and placed properly. I outlined the front panel with a sharpie poster paint pen.  The ribbon and teal cardstock are both american crafts.

Thanks so much for visiting, I would love to know what you think of her so please leave me a comment :)
Happy Scrapping.

The EastWind New Release Card - Diva Lisa

If you follow me on Instagram (@loulouforsyth)  you will have seen a sneak peek of this image early last week.  She is Diva Lisa from The EastWind

Digital stamp- Diva Lisa ' She ' -300dpi JPG/PNG files - MAC0154.

I love her as she has a big chest area just like me :)  Although I am really not sure I could pull off that dress after 4 kids LOL.

I coloured her up with copics and taking a leaf from my good friend Trace's  book of colouring tips and used prisma pencils to highlight, but I only did her hair with them.  I obviously haven't quite got the technique down because it made my blending look a bit crap.  BUT I do like the conctrast so hey ho, I'll let it go, let it goooooo  ;)

I actually coloured her before I had picked out papers too, which is quite unusual for me and definitely not part of my normal crafting process.  I chose these papers from The Garden Tea Party stack from DCWV which is so old you probably can't get it anymore, even in an antique shop.

Thanks loads for dropping by, have an awesome week and Happy Scrapping :)

A DillyBeans Card From The Heart

Late last last week hubby asked me for a sympathy card for one of his staff.  I went to work first colouring up Dillybeans unicorn girls heart.  She is so sweet and I loved colouring her hair :)

I went with a CAS look for this card and let the image do the talking.  I coloured her with a mix of Spectrum Noir and Copic Markers.
The sentiment is an old one from Stampin'Up stamped in black ink.

Thanks heaps for dropping by my blog :)  Happy Scrapping.
