Digital Tuesday - Layers

This is our last challenge for a while at Digital Tuesday, we are on holiday ;)  Somewhere nice I hope.  The challenge is layers so I layered this card up good and proper.

I used an image from Saturated Canary which I coloured up with Prismacolor Pencils.  I have used lots of glimmermist on this card, the colours are Sun Sisters, Iridescent Gold,  Patina, Turquoise Blue, Lemon Meringue, Wheatfields and Apple.  The paper from MME Merry & Bright 6x6 paper pad and I cut the shapes with a doily die from the warehouse, no idea of the brand, a spellbinder label die and Tim Holtzs alterations dies, mini snowflake and mini rosette..  The sentiment  is from Hero Arts Very Merry sentiment set.  I also used some gold thread that I have had for yonks and I coloured her wings with about 3 different silver pens I have in my pen bucket and the gold was done with an Atyou Spica pen.

Here is a close up of all the shimmer.....

Pretty aye :)

A Thank You and a Blog Candy Heads Up

First up, make sure and go and check out Tonya's Blog Candy, she is totally sweet!

Next, here is a card I made for my Mum to send my cousin.....

I actually don't know why I put a Thank you sentiment on here but it got taken off before it was sent, duh.  I guess we all have those moments.lol.

The papers are DCWV Baby Girl papers and the image is from Tiddlyinks and is coloured with my beloved Prismapencils.  The butterflies were one of my BLITSY  bargains.

Thanks loads for popping by on the first official day of my boys Summer Holidays :)

SGC - Endless Summer Challenge

Summer is my most favourite season of the year, it brings swimming, jandals, Christmas, sand and sun.  All the fun stuff :)   And over at Southern Girls Challenge we are celebrating my favourite season with an "ENDLESS SUMMER" challenge.  And here is my card using a very cute image from one of our sponsors THE PAPER SHELTER.....

So it is pretty obvious that this little cutie wasn't actually designed as a Christmas image but I personally think that she looks pretty sweet in her Christmas hat and dress :)  I have coloured this image with my prismacolor pencils and added some highlights with glimmer glaze in Saffron.  The papers came in a pad I got cheap in Blitsy (link at the top of my blog) and the sentiment is Hero Arts.  The flowers came from Wild Orchid Crafts and I blinged them with the glimmer glaze as well.

Digital Tuesday Challenge - Non Traditional Christmas

Ok, I know what you are thinking when you see my card BUT in my humble opinion BROWN is not traditional!  Ok ?  So I used brown!  I also used an image from our sponsor THE STAMP FAIRY.
So there you have it, if you want to make a Christmas project using something digital in Non Traditional Christmas Colours then Digital Tuesday Challenge wants you :)

And here is my card........

I used some old SU papers I had stashed away.  I coloured the image using prismacolor pencils on canson watercolour paper.  I also added liquid applique to the image along with red stickles, green e-line rhinestones (from Prima), liquid pearls and white gel pen.  The ribbon is my newest purchase and it came from spotlight. The sentiment is hero arts and is stamped in Chocolate Chip dye ink from SU.

Only 25 Sleeps To Go

REMEMBER TO ENTER MY BLOG CANDY

Tomorrow is the 1st of December EXCITING!  I am not sure what it is about this Christmas, but I am so amped it is almost ridiculous.  I am totally into everything this year including decorating outside the house.  I think having the kids pressies so under control has definitely helped.  Yay for one day deal lol.
So just my brother, SIL, nephew and Mummy to buy for and I am off to PN tomorrow so I will will get that sorted then.

I made this card for a challenge on YouTube by BACraftygirl which was to create a Winter/Holiday/Christmas Card with 3 stars, 2 Diecuts, 2 stamps and glitter. Here is what I came up with....

The image is from High Hopes and is quite an old one so I am not sure if it is still available.  I coloured it up with Prismacolor Pencils.  The papers are Jolly Days by Cosmo Cricket and the cardstock is Stampin Up.  I used liquid appliqué on the fur on the image.   The chipboard stars are some really old ones I have been hoarding which were originally plain but i pushed them onto my Brilliance galaxy gold inkpad then heat set them.  Once they were dry I added rock candy distress stickles.  The diecuts are from k&co and are vellum which I inked with antique linen distress ink so they weren't so starkly white against the card.  The sentiment is from Hero Arts.  I inked around the edges of the papers with galaxy gold brilliance ink.

I am entering my card in the following challenges....
Inspired by - I chose Santa :)
Crimbo Crakers - Anything Goes
Creative Card Crew - Anything Goes
Flourishes - Use Gold or Silver
Papertake - Free for all

I am Louise and I am addicted to Blitsy - and here is a Wreath.

lol, I am so serious, after yesterdays awesome super sale I promised myself "No more until after Christmas, then what do they do?  Only have glimmermist on sale, so you know what happened...... yep 10 bottles of mist later, I am a Blitsy tart!   But lurve my g-mist, no project is complete with out a bit of blingy glam :)

Ok so I am actually going to share a project......

Angus and I sat out on the lawn in the sun on Saturday morning and made this wreath, we both felt pretty damn clever afterward too :)  We bought some cheap baubles from the warehouse and raided Andrew's wardrobe for an old wire coathanger and we set forth on our mission.  It looks awesome hanging by our door from the planter hook, my hoya has been moved for the time being.  Not that Andrew will mind, he wont knock his head on the planter basket and head for work covered in potting mix and spiderwebs for a whole month ;)

Thanks for popping by, have a great day.....

Boo to Summer Colds! But Yay to Scrapbooking and Pretty Flowers

I am sneezing and snotting all over the place as I type this, feeling like a toxic mess.  Jodie and Zip are both suffering with me, poor little sweeties.  Although I was a bit over it at 1.00am this morning sitting in the lazyboy rocking Zippy and singing hush-a-bye over and over.  That is probably half the reason my throat is red raw.  But I did get to watch a pretty cool obscure movie, I think it was called "Believe in me" and it was about a highschool girls basketball team.  It was really good actually, so I guess I should thank my little Zip.

I actually finished another layout with last months Studio Calico Roller Rink kit......

Yay, it's the Jodester learning to ride her trike :)  I am completely stoked with how this turned out.  Everything was out of the Roller Rink kit or addons apart from the Flair badge which is from Evalicious (there is a link on my sidebar)

I am entering this layout in the following Challenges....
Mema's Crafts - Scrap a Page
The Stamp Spot - Tags

And here is my baby girl making her very first layout at the tender age of 2 years and 11 months :)

And here is her finished layout, I am very impressed as the only thing I did was hand her the letter stickers and slightly straighten them for her.  She is such a clever girl although I do worry about what she will expect to be allowed to use from my stash in a few years.

And here are some gorgeous roses from my garden to brighten your day :)

Thanks loads for coming by :)

One Day, I Promise......

I am so useless at getting my projects blogged on time, seriously I am starting to think it is a medical condition or at the very least a psychological one.
Here is my project for Tuesday over at Digital TUESDAY Challenge.....  we would like you to use a Blue, Kraft and White colour scheme.  Here is what I came up with.....

I used a Mo Manning image called Winter Fairy Halla which I coloured with my Prismacolour Pencils and blended out with OMS and a paperstump.  I added some ranger ink white enamel  as highlights in random areas.  I used Distress stain to dye the originally white doily.  The paper and cardstock are both from Stampin'Up.

Okies so that's me done, my kids are all napping at 4.51 in the afternoon as it has been camp for school and the boys got home today and Jodie and Zip were just a pair of cranky pantses so off they went too.  Ahhhhh can you hear the peace and quiet???? Only interrupted by a plane flying fertiliser on the neighbours place, oh well you can't have it all I guess.  I just hope the kidlies aren't up all night due to the nap and I miss Made In Chelsea for the second week in a row.  It is a shockingly bad tv programme but strangely addictive, even Andrew watches it with me.lol. I find myself hoping everything turns out fabulous for Millie and her new romance with Hugo (yes we are only on season 1)

Ok so that's laters from me, over and out :)

Whingey Whine Moan and a Layout

I have been watching a few youtube vids lately and I am subscribed to a few awesome channels.  Nearly all of them are crafty chicks like me and I love watching their hauls and what they think of the stuff then a few days later seeing what they have made, you know that sort of thing.  I was subscribed to one woman and she would do about 3 haul videos a week, a few weeks ago she moved house and was SOOO excited that when they arrived to move in there were 5 parcels waiting for her. hmmmmm I thought she couldn't wait till she actually moved in?  she obviously wasn't too worried about having parcels sitting out on the steps of an unoccupied home in broad daylight.  Then a few days later there was another haul of about $100.00 bucks worth of stuff, and I was still to see anything actually made with her hauls. Then I watched today and she was showing yet more crap she had bought, you could hear a weed eater in the background and she starts whining about her gardener doing around the window while she was videoing, I hit unsubscribe immediately. She is lucky enough to stay at home while her husband works, spend loads of money on whatever she wants, whine about her gardener. She obviously doesn't realise that there are people losing their homes, people that can't afford to eat or feed their children and people that are just really at the end of it due to the financial situations most countries are in at at the moment.  Anyway that's my rant over :)  whew, if you made it this far here is a layout for you.....

I made this with last months SC kit plus add ons (don't ask me which) I am mortified to admit that that is the only layout I have completed with it.  I received my new pack yesterday.....

of course it doesn't arrive all jumbled up like that, it is all sorted in to bags of the main kit and any addons you decide to buy, I went a little crazy this month as I got a discount on the addons becuase I did a survey for SC. SOOOO, I am not allowed to use any of this new yummyness until I have completed at least another 4 layouts from last months kit.

Here are some photos of the boys at their school athletics last week....

All Done - YAY ( Southern Girls Challenge )

This fortnight over at Southern Girls Challenge we want to see your Christmas Projects.  I have done a layout this time.  I took photos of the pressies in the cupboard ready to go and also this years new ornaments, I bought some to hang in the plum tree in the garden that we are having our Christmas Dinner under.  So they are all coordinated, which is a bit of a novelty around here.
I also have bought some baubles to make a wreath, I have been looking at tutorials on line to get an idea on how to make one with a wire coat hanger.  Anyway here is my layout.........

I used Kraft card stock as my base which I spattered with some spray, Overdue Mr Hueys and Chalk Chalkboard Mist by Tattered Angels.  I used papers from a 6x6 Basic Grey Aspen Frost paper pad for the papers on the layout and also the title which was cut using "Base Camp" Cricut Cartridge. The embellishments are all from Purple Pumpkin and I used a stampin'up border punch along the botom of one of the paper layers and also a smash date stamp and tag punch again from SU.

Thanks loads for coming by........

Where does the time go?

A whole lot of time has passed since I last posted, Bad BAd Girl! lol.  But I do have something sweet to share with you so I am sure you will forgive me ;)

This week at Digital Tuesday Challenge we would like to see your Fantasy themed cards, I have made this card for Will's for his first birthday, when I printed the image and started colouring it I initally thought it was a boy fairy, hmmmm apparently not.

I made the background using a stencil on watercolour paper with some glimmer-mists  the image is from Mo Manning at Mo's Digi Pencil which I coloured with my bargain distress markers from blitzy blended with an aquabrush, the doily and seam binding ribbon are from my stash and the letter stickers came with my Studio Calico kit and are Basic Grey.  The stamped and fussy cut banner is a Kaiser Craft stamp.

Thanks loads for popping by

Blitzy Bargains!!!!!!!!

I have been having some great luck scoring some AWESOME specials on scrapbooking and cardmaking stuff at Blitzy.  It is a runout shop basically so they have lots of end of lines and overuns of fabby products.  For example a few weeks ago they had tattered angels products at ridiculously cheap prices, and I scored myself the complete set of Tim Holtz distress Markers dirt cheap.

Follow this link and get hooked up, every Monday, Wednesday and Friday new products are added so be observant and quick so you don't miss out.......

Some Bits and Pieces and an apology

Wow, things have been so weird and crazy around here lately that I have been totally neglecting my blog and crafting.  There has been a few things happening, some family stuff, school went back, birthday craziness and an upcoming craft fair which I am going to be selling my cards at (well hopefully some cards anyway:)

I have made this layout this week for the Challenge Me Happy blog, this month it is a photo challenge....

I made it using some glimmer sprays and my Central High Studio Calico Kit, I am pretty excited as my new kit arrived earlier this week but I haven't had a chance to play, hopefully I will this weekend.  I am listing the overun from my September Kit on Trade Me, I usually get 2 of some of the stuff as I am getting both the card kit and the scrapbook kit.  Go check out the "Stuff I am Selling" link at the top of my blog under the header to have a look.

I also made this card for my Dad for his birthday, no image which is unusual for me......

I forgot to take a pic before I left the house so this one was taken after Connor had written in it and Dad had read it so please excuse the bends :)  I used the Echo Park This and That Genuine collection to make the card.

A couple of weeks ago I made this dress for JoJo for the summer, I love the way it turned out and the colours look great on her.  Also a refreshing change from pink I guess.

I took the photos in my Mum and Dad's awesome garden.  The dress is still a little big but I have made it that way so it fits her once Summer comes.

So that is it a little round up of what I have been busy with, thanks for dropping by and I would love to know what you think of my creations :)

SGC - Tie A Ribbon Round It

Good morning my lovely followers :)  This morning I want to share another layout with you ( I am loving this new scrapping freedom:)
The challenge at Southern Girls for the next couple of weeks is to use a spooled item on your project.  I have made this layout with my Studio Calico kit.  These are some old photos of Angus that I had in my scrapping box.  They reminded me of how before he went to school he had to be watched constantly because he was always on the run, down to the dam, onto the road, everywhere but where he should be!

Thanks loads for coming by my blog, I would love to know what you think of my creations.....

Digital Tuesday - Steampunk Challenge

This week at Digital Tuesday we would like to see Steampunk cards. Talk about a challenge ;)  I have never even attempted a steampunk anything before this and I kinda think my card turned out as a gothic/steampunk hybrid.  I used the very gothy Little Red from Spesch Stamps and did my usual colouring with prisma pencils on watercolour paper.......

I did have loads of fun grunging and painting this with distress inks, glimmerglaze and glimmerglam.  It is the first time I have got really messy and creative with the TA glimmer products and it was AWESOME FUN!  I used a Tim Holtz die to cut the gears and the pearls are prima which I altered using glimmerglaze in saffron.

Thanks loads for coming by.......

CSI Challenge - Fly Layout

I am enjoying the school holidays with my kids at the moment, it is lovely not to have to rush around madly in the morning trying to get the boys out the door by 8.05 :)  I am also enjoying spending alot of quality time with the kidlets because I have resigned from a few DTs to make family time.  Connor and Angus are loving it and I am finding myself more motivated to spend time in my scrap room at night while Andrew is doing his work at the dinner table.

On Wednesday night I made this layout for the current CSI CHALLENGE.  It is another photo from the same batch as I talked about in a previous post.

The background is bazzill cardstock and I have sprayed it with TA glimmermist in key lime and TA chalkboard in teal high heel, the papers are Teresa Collins and the rubon stars and wings are both from Hambly.  The small letters are cosmo cricket and the large orange ones are AC Thickers.  The ribbon is SU pacific point striped grosgrain.

Thanks for coming by my blog.......
